Film Journal #250 - John Badham’s “Blue Thunder” (1983)
“Blue Thunder” borrows plot points from many 1970s films (Vietnam PSTD victims, government paranoia) and serves them up in the wrapper of 80s action pictures. It’s also always good to see Warren Oates, even if he was barely recognizable as this was one of his last roles.
